Whenever i listen to some girls covering a song on youtube I would imagine myself playing the drums or a guitar while she is singing at a live concert, is that normal ???

At the Star Wars music live concert the conductor was using a normal score but then he had some kind of t.v. screen in front of him. It wasn’t playing exactly what was on the big screen either, what was it?

I would need your expert knowledge

I’ve made a sound recording from a live concert, and noticed afterwards that occasionally someone moved between microphone and speakers, and the trebles dropped as if a door was closed in between…
What would you recommend to use to automatically adjust (amplify) the trebles? (is it called dynamic equalizing?)

Which programs would you recommend? Maybe even which function inside a specific program?

I don’t know of a program that can do that automatically. What you might be able to do is to use a multiband compressor to compress all frequency ranges independently, followed by a regular (broadband) compressor to even out the overall dynamics. The multiband would reduce the bass when the singer is moving, so in that time your bass and treble will be equal, and then the broadband will bring that whole section’s level up to match the rest of the performance.

I recorded a live concert and when I played it at home the low frequencies are not how the sounded at the concert. The bass is fuzzy and not powerful. Would it help if i played it through really big speakers rather than normal hifi ones? Your advice would be appreciated. Also can you recommend good mic to use when recording a concert? 10 points for most informative response.

im guessing you would need a really really good mic.. and those normal mics that you would buy at like a best buy for karaoke is no where good enough for that..

A few of my friends and I are trying to start up a music review/photography online business, in which people from all over the world reviews about recent gigs/concerts that they went to. We then plan to hopefully start up a website domain and get photography (press) passes to arenas.

What is the best (and relatively affordable) camera for live music shows avaliable? And also has anyone got any tips on writing good live concert reviews?

I use a canon rebel xti, but it’s not so much the camera body, it’s the lenses you use. My two main lenses are a 50mm f1.8 lens and a 28-135mm IS lens. They’re both amazing in low-light conditions. The 50mm is about $ 100, the 28-135mm lens is about $ 350.
